Ronaldo acknowledges that moving to Manchester City was on the table

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that last year, after deciding to leave Juventus, he was close to transferring to Manchester City.

The Portuguese star, however, ultimately turned down the chance to join Pep Guardiola’s team to return to Manchester United, where he made history on his first stint.

“In 2021, I was close to transferring to Manchester City. I was surprised at that time as they went to great lengths to get me. But my heart decided, my history with Man Utd, with Sir Alex Ferguson. My heart spoke loudly at that moment,” declared Ronaldo in the last interview, which caused a great stir.

However, he did not live up to his expectations as he was pleasantly surprised by the lack of infrastructure and the treatment he received.

He even said that he feels betrayed by the “Red Devils”, while he insists that he does not respect coach Erik ten Hag.

After the end of the World Cup in Qatar, the 37-year-old will leave “Old Trafford” and in this case he is expected to join another European club.
