Gwinn and Frohms credit supporters after win: “We wanted to give the fans something back.”

Giulia Gwinn Speaking to reporters following last night’s victory over Austria in Hannover, German women’s national team trainer Horst Hrubesch and starting DFB fullback Giulia Gwinn thanked a crowd of nearly 44,000 spectators for helping them achieve a positive send-off ahead of the coming Olympic tournament.  Back-up keeper Ann-Katrin Berger also spoke to the German public television mics about her historic performance. As positive a tailwind as the DFB-Mädels are riding heading into the coming games in France, there is unfortunately fresh concern for team talisman Lena Oberdorf.
